The materials are sourced from NZ suppliers or manufacturers, supporting local and family operated business, vested in making a long-term positive impact & openly provide information on traceability to back up their sustainability credentials, transparency on supply chains, production processes & ethical practices.
- All papers for colour card, note papers, envelope & gift pouch have accreditations, either FSC® /Forest Stewardship Council®: a leading global alliance of national forest certification that promotes environmentally sound & socially beneficial management of the world’s forests, or PEFC: The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification.
- Paper is Elemental Chlorine Free/ECF: made without the use of chlorine dioxide and Acid Free, with alkaline reserve, guaranteeing long life ISO 9706.
- The colour card is supplied through a NZ business, who sources from a company in the UK, that is B Corp certified. FSC® C014189
- Papers for envelope, note papers & gift pouch are made at the Fabriano mill in Italy, dating back to 1264. The company is committed to renewable energy & makes extensive use of self-generated hydroelectric power. The paper is generally fountain pen friendly, depending on the choice of ink. FSC®C015523
- Wool is sourced from growers in South Wairarapa that are credited for their high level of integrity for regenerative agriculture. They have a Land to Market, Global Animal Partnership & Responsible Wool Standard accreditation, use an Ecological Outcome Verification Programme & are equally rigorous in animal welfare & husbandry. The wool is spun into yarn in Wellington.
- Red wool option on the gift pouch: The wool is from a small handcraft business in the Wairarapa. The maker specialises in growing & foraging for dye plants to naturally dye wool. The red colour she makes from the root of the madder plant (Rubia tinctorum), one of the oldest known natural red dyes used in ancient civilizations. The wool is merino, from the South Island.

- Post bag for shipping: The bag from The NZ Better Packaging Company is made from certified recycled ocean bound plastic pollution [ recycled plastic waste collected from coastal communities in Southeast Asia, regions with no formal waste management infrastructure responsible for most of the world’s ocean plastic. ]
- Cardboard packaging is FSC®, and kraft tape is FSC®110267.
